Ankara Arena

Name: Ankara Arena
Address: Gar. 06330 / Ankara
Year of construction: 2010
Capacity: 11,000

The Ankara Arena, which lies in the heart of Turkey's capital city, will be the venue for all games of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women.

The country's largest indoor arena outside Istanbul, it was purpose-built for the 2010 FIBA World Championship, playing host to Group C teams Turkey, Russia, Greece, China, Puerto Rico and Ivory Coast.

Beyond its spacious interior and 11,000 seats, it boasts state-of-the-art media and hospitality facilities.

Following the World Championship, this brand new arena – owned by the Turkish Basketball Federation – became the home of Turkish basketball league sides Casa TED Kolejliler and Türk Telekom BK, replacing the nearby Ankara Atatürk Sport Hall.

It has also hosted the 2011 FIVB Girls Youth World Championship (volleyball) as well as the 2011 World Wushu Championships (Chinese martial arts), while it is also used to stage non-sporting events such as pop and rock concerts.
