While never a player who will sparkle in terms of offensive production, Hamann is a steady and defensive-minded player that Coach Bauermann likes because of his ability to understand what is required at this level.

This close relationship can be traced back to the pair working together for years in Bamberg and Hamann has been – and continues to be – a terrific servant to the National Team.

Another experienced player who has the ability to show leadership on the floor and knows how to get the job done.

What he naturally lacks in playmaking, scoring ability and outside threat, he makes up for with his ability to penetrate to the basket and find his team-mates.

At the defensive end of the floor and in all-round hustle situations, there are few better.

He probably didn’t have the best season of his career with Alba Berlin last year but you pretty much know exactly what you are going to get – a priceless factor for his Coach, team-mates and the fans.
