Goran’s career has changed since May 7th 2010.

Before that, the little guy from Ljubljana was a decent NBA back-up point guard with an interesting future. 7.9 points and 3 assists a game for his second season in the American league, benefiting from the lessons of a master of the position - Steve Nash.

During the regular season, he sometimes showed promising scoring abilities (32 points in 32 minutes and 10-13 shooting in a loss against Utah), but what he did during the 2010 playoffs in a critical Game 3 in San Antonio has turned him into a new man.

During the fourth quarter, the Suns were trailing and Dragic scored 23 points in the last 12 minutes (26 for the game) on  9 of 11 shooting, including a perfect 5 of 5 behind the arc! Phoenix then took a 3-0 lead in the series and the Spurs never came back, getting swept for the first time by the Suns.

This was a huge performance by Dragic.

"It seemed there was no way to stop him," said Spurs guard Manu Ginobili.

“It was kind of embarrassing.” Early in his career, Dragic has been compared to a smaller version of Manu Ginobili, because of the lefty shooting touch, great athletics abilities and great drives to the basket.

At Eurobasket 2007, Dragic was one of the revelations of the competition.

He was drafted in 2008 in 45th position by the Spurs who traded him immediately to Phoenix.

This year, his national team is going to need him more than ever. He’s a solid defender who has improved a lot in taking care of the ball.

His younger brother Zoran is also part of the national Team. Goran speaks fluent Slovenian, Serbian, Spanish and English.
