Guillermo DIAZ

Guillermo Diaz was a two-sport star in Puerto Rico but decided to dedicate himself to basketball in Miami, Florida.

After a great college career, he played in Europe and had an opportunity in the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2008.

At the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship he quickly became a fan favorite in Puerto Rico after his great showing, especially in the Gold medal game against Brazil.

His explosiveness, especially on offence and his defensive skills make him a prime candidate to be an impact player in this tournament.

He won the BSN title this year with Capitanes de Arecibo and despite the groin injury which was a factor in the point guard position.

Originally cut from the roster, he was called back after Dalmau and Ayuso left the team.
